Every great film begins with a script. The script is the blueprint—the authority for every scene, every line, every movement of the camera. No director, no actor, no crew member can ignore it without throwing the entire production into chaos.
In the same way, the Word of God is the script of life. It is the ultimate authority, the unshakable foundation, and the living blueprint for every believer. Just as a film without a script loses its coherence, a Christian without the Word drifts without direction.
Yes, the Bible was written by men—but they were not writing on their own. They were inspired, led, and carried along by the Holy Spirit (2 Peter 1:21). The words we hold in Scripture are not mere ink on paper; they are the living Word of God, filled with His wisdom, His truth, and His life.
The Word of God is alive. Hebrews 4:12 reminds us that it is “living and active, sharper than any double-edged sword.” This means it doesn’t just sit on a shelf; it moves, cuts, and transforms. The very life of God flows through its pages.
Wisdom is in the Word.
Answers are in the Word.
Power to change your life is in the Word.
When you open your Bible, you’re not just reading stories—you’re receiving life.
Before going to the cross, Jesus prayed this over His disciples:“Now this is eternal life: that they know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom You have sent.” (John 17:3). Eternal life isn’t just about a future in heaven; it’s about knowing God now. Knowing God is a pursuit, but there is no greater pursuit. And how do we know Him? Through the Word. From Genesis to Revelation, Jesus is revealed as He unveils the Father to us. Every page whispers and sometimes even screams His name.
The Bible is not meant to be approached with human intellect alone. The Holy Spirit breathes on the Word, giving us understanding, revelation, and insight. He takes the text off the page and writes it on our hearts. That’s why prayer, worship, and study go hand in hand—because the Spirit enables us to grasp the mysteries of God.
To my fellow filmmakers who love Jesus: let the Word of God dwell in you richly. Your creativity, your storytelling, your art—all of it flows out of what’s inside you. If the Word is alive in you, then your films will carry eternal weight. The Word is not optional. It is crucial. It is essential. It is life. Spend time in it. Study it. Meditate on it. Not out of duty, but out of hunger to know Him. Never produce anything that is not rooted in the Word of God. creatively weave it in, and creatively release it. Jesus is the Word, and in the Word, we see the Father. So invest yourself in Scripture—not just for knowledge, but for life, wisdom, power, and transformation. Because when the Word is in you, it will flow through you—and that will change not only your life but the lives of everyone who encounters your work.
